Crying_Girl_Roy Lichtenstein

Strange what loneliness

Makes sad souls believe

Friend disliked admitting this,

But claims she was

Complicit in the casting of fate

To the four corners of the universe

(Please, she said, no pity)

Seems that deep down knew

What she was doing

The familiar is always safest

In a convoluted way

Once again another mistake

Ends in a self-mocking haiku:

Crying in her car

Screaming but not too often

(Fear of stroking out)
