(please see   for the poetry challenge. Great idea, thanks!)

Drinking each other’s blood at the dawn

Lapping ruby red from ring fingers

A damp sheet braiding two twinned bodies

Seemingly silly love ritual

But how else to mingle, she wonders

Passion’s flavors defy intellect

The gods of love demand sacrifice

Hoarded vitality now a gift

In faceted glass bottle of hope
