Listening to music

Not doing it

Now require live bands

Something about the energy

Like a Sci-Fi alien

Feeding off the vitality of Earthlings

Like a line of Green-Belts

At a karate dojo

Feeding off each other’s power

While performing a kata

Like being with a real man

Feeding off the potent blood and bone

Below the surface of his skin

Instead of touching pixels

And hearing a disembodied voice

From a smart phone

Maybe old hearts require

Drinking directly from the font

A tangible, physical source

Creating a bond of synergy

Crackling along a worn-out path for

Reanimation of a fading energy…

  1. I think you hit the nail on the thread and I don’t think it has to do with age; everyone who hears music live and lets it touch the soul will always crave to re-experience. It is like that with everything that is not vicariously experienced, I think at least, perhaps with music and some other stuff – most noticeable.

  2. Thank you for your comment, Oloriel. I believe you are correct. When I was younger, didn’t really think about concerts, I was just trying to raise my sons, work, and attend school. Perhaps now that I’m older and can relax and THINK (oh, that part is so wonderful!) I now want to drink from the font. You bring up an important concept: we should not wait until “the time is right” before we do what we desire. The time is always right and every effort should go into making it so.
