(wrote and posted the poem in December. Now it is chorded for ukulele)
SO GLAD I CAN LAUGH AT MYSELF. ALL OF MY SONGS ARE STARTING TO SOUND THE SAME. SIGH…BUT I’M HAVING FUN ANYWAY
G/The alluring variance of C/light
C/Delightful dawn to mystical Am/night
Am/Get-serious workaday C/sun
C/Incandescent moon signifying G/fun
G7/Winter solstice shortest F/day
F/Summer solstice, eternal Am/play
Dm/Sizzling lightning sparks the F/rains
F/Yet mist silences while vision G7/strains
G/Morning music like a C/hymn
C/But atonal hints surface to the Am/brim
Am/Our love hot as an ungrounded C/wire
C/Losing you becomes unending hell’s G/fire
G7/Sun will always rise, will always F/set
F/How many moons until I can Am/forget?
Dm/Me! Me! Fighting misan F/thropy!
F/Trusting no one, how can this G7/be?
Dm/Terrible contempt through shadows C/creep
C/Strangling sweetness, in twilight Dm/sleep…
