GRAVEROBBER

Mercilessly you snatched my body

I’d carefully buried my heart

Secreted in soul-murdered soil

But under the callous moon

You heard the feeble beat

Begging for disinterment

Suiting your purpose

Reviving it merely

On a cruel whim

And then tossing it

Into your biohazard bag

Of bloody, loveless tokens…

MY ANNUAL HATE-FREE DAY SONNET

#6 MANGEN PES (LOVE EACH OTHER)

(scroll down for a YouTube video)

Love each other, often hard to endorse

So what if we cannot always feel love?

Tolerance is an acceptable course

Distilled from burning passion undreamed of

See our fellow humans who suffer too

Spreading hatred causes life to be worse

Anger poisons the aethers wafting through

Hovering like an everlasting curse

We specks of life on each other depend

Yet we form tribes of separate masses

Mistaking charisma as our best friend

Further separating into classes

Although love is a precious rarity

Honor the emotion with clarity

WITCH MARKS

Ugly mole

Where jaw meets ear

Witch’s mark

Someone meanly jeered

Healer’s mark

Gran asserted

Takes pain to understand

And show compassion

Stars on the palm

So many

Different sizes

Both hands

Under two fingers

Center

Star should be fine

An important line

Says Gran,

But it is a trade-off

May be creative

Successful

But never know true love

Sarah Good

Hanged in 1692

Talking to herself out loud

Early autism?

Discussing business with the Devil?

Witch trials of intolerance

I still talk to myself

Many of us do

But have the grace to laugh

If a stranger stares

Yet no one seems to mind

The muttering of cell phone chats

In toilets and stores

No way to know if

The Devil is on the other side of that convo…

“GET TOGETHER”

(scroll down for the Youngbloods video)

Obsessed all day

Must rid myself of the thoughts

About a social media incident

Wikipedia (and I must add

That although I earn $200

Over the poverty line

I yearly donate to them

Because knowledge is power)

So, okay, Wikipedia posted

A picture of a five-year-old girl

With an infant

Stating she was the youngest

To ever give birth

In 1933 Peru

And she was still living

So me, without coffee

–It hadn’t quite perked—

Flipped out

A no-no during Mercury Retrograde

But I commented angrily

That she was obviously raped

And demanded that Wikipedia

Pull the picture

Because the poor child

Now older than me

Could probably see

This entry

Wikipedia refused, not quite citing

The Free Speech Amendment

But the comments from others began

Some were sympathetic and joined in

Asking for deletion of the entry

But OMG, the comments of hate

Calling me names

Posting pregnancy pictures of this baby

And saying I deserved to suffer and look at her

HATE, HATE, HATE

From whom?  How do I label them?

Perverts? Crazies?

This raged on for too long and I deleted my comment

But of course I obsessed

But of course I feel devastated

But of course I wished myself

To be black and white and tiny

As I desperately clawed at the edges

Of a History book cover

Beads and flowers

Framing my face

Skipping through the pages

Searching for photographs

To slip into

Where peace signs and

Words like “Love”

Adorn the pages

Where I rightfully belong

Way back in time

Pressed between the leaves

In order not to wonder

Where  love of humanity has gone

Or did it ever exist

WTF were we thinking…?
