valentine’s day

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

(revised my folk hotel poem from T-giving)

Happy Valentine’s Day
This is important for me to say
Social Media is our folk hotel
Visiting daily, we share and retell

Showing pictures of our dog and cat
And our granddaughter the acrobat
Yummy recipes make me hungry
Love the chance to sign petitions about the bumblebee

Wonderful to hear about your son
Life is tough but they still have fun
What amazing writing and crafts so handy
Thanks for accepting our modus operandi

We huddle together when tragedy does come
It visits us all and we succumb
But having loving thoughts sent our way
Soothes us like a spiritual bouquet

So keep on posting and let me know
How life is, just say hello
Know I think of you although I don’t say
You’re always in my mind on any day

Love & Fun & Happiness to you and your Crew…

D/Struggled to stay C/afloat

F/Skin aglow D/feeling the sting

C/Fantasy in D/chords of blue

D/How will I ever Am/find you

C/Flavor of a D/good man

D/Like eating chocolate C/Ice cream

Clickin’ and lookin’

Through my MP3

For the best-ever

Valentine song to share

Wow! What a collection

Of love songs

In my RCA

One inch by two inch

Holy grail of

Musical tales

With endless wailing

And I think about you

On this day, remembering

You were determined to

Take, break, have at

A PIECE OF MY HEART

Although I asked

Why can’t you PUT A LITTLE LOVE IN YOUR HEART?

So you handed me something on the saint’s day

Heavy like lead, and

Inside the HEART SHAPED BOX

Barely beat my rupturing GYPSY HEART

Tapping out the rhythm to the word “run”

It was a TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART

And I knew

You

Would never

STOP DRAGGIN’ MY HEART AROUND

Always a HEART BREAKER

And I helplessly watched

As my HEART OF GLASS

Shattered noiselessly

To the floor…

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE…

OK, DO YOU GET IT? Looks nothing like I thought it would. Between the wind and the Rottweiler lifting his leg and the two little guys trying to eat the strings. Then, I didn’t have enough ukuleles to make the “E” so used the cases. And no jokes about hoarding. They are different tones (maybe one will make me sound like a “real” musician) and I don’t have cable TV so the money goes for that 🙂 Anyway, ALL WE NEED IS LOVE (well, not so sure anymore but I’ll throw it out there…)

I wish the stores sold

Secret maps to kind suitors

Celebrating love

Not fading flowers

Buried under chocolate

Clogging arteries

I love you, I do

At least on this fourteenth day

Credit card bills say

I wish the stores sold

Secret instructions to make

Love everlasting…

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY

Heart Valentine Card

The beauty of love

Is its encompassing definition:

The appearance of a soulmate

Is a rare gift although

A spouse is somewhat more common

As are significants and partners.

But let us not forget

The others in our lives:

Roommates, dogs, cats, birds

Parents, siblings, children

Assorted relatives but,

Most of all, our friends.

Love is not a box of chocolates

Or roses (although nice to receive)

Love is listening

Love is smiling

Love is effortless grace

Love is free of resentment

Love is clicking sticky keyboards

While commenting

And liking our virtuals.

If we are observant,

We will see how many we love

And how many love us…
