KAFKA DIED BEFORE FINISHING THE BOOK…

Reading Kafka at 15

K, wandering around

The government maze

No one will listen

No one cares

And me

At 15

Thinking,

“This can’t happen here

Not in the US, never!”

Worked over 40 years

Earned a $7,000 per year pension

But someone in Medicare

Decided it was $87,000

C, that’s me, wandering around

The government maze

No one will listen

No one cares

And me, that’s C, is left

With a tattered copy

Of Kafka’s The Castle

Of Kafka’s The Trial

And no prescription meds

Searching for me?

I’ll be living in Migraine City…
